The Dream Charter School

The Comets are a first grade class of about two dozen kids at the Dream School whose curriculum revolves a lot about peace making. They are taught about the philosophies of peace, contentment and forgiveness, so they feel better and get along with each better. The end result is that instead of the typical din of a first grade class, these 6 year-oldsdsds focus on breaking up fights and helping each other feel better.

Each Thursday they learn about a different great peace maker, like Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Ghandi & Thich Naht Hahn. The best experience of this shoot was to hear these kids explain who his or her favorite peace maker is.
